It was perfect for accommodating all of our guest with the water front Villas and Cabins. Our guest were able to make an entire weekend out of the occasions by fishing, boating, golfing, and lounging by the pool. The Cypress Grill and 88’s lounge was great for entertaining our friends and family. The beautiful scenery made everlasting pictures from our special day. The wedding/event planner really made the process of planning easy by keeping in touch with us throughout our planning year, offering ideas and advice to make it a memorable occasion. The staff was so friendly and really helped bring everything together. We were so pleased with our experience and could not have asked for a more perfect day.

Every little detail from the rehearsal dinner to the wedding reception was handled in a professional yet loving manner. The resort made the entire family feel like royalty. No matter how small the detail or the question, they listened and took care of everything. Even after the wedding, they helped with the removal of decorations. We feel like they are now part of our family. We couldn’t have had a more wonderful place to have our daughter’s wedding, with scrumptious food and gorgeous scenery; we can’t thank all the staff enough for providing such a memorable occasion! We arrived and were greeted by a coral sunset and the shimmering water of Lake Blackshear as the backdrop for some of our favorite photos. Everything about our evening exceeded our expectations, including the delicious food prepared by the resort’s chef, the spacious ballroom, decorations, and the honeymoon suite. Everyone that we worked with at the resort was professional, very accommodating, and made it their goal for us to have the most unforgetable evening imaginable. Not only was the resort a perfect setting for our wedding reception, but it also accommodated our guests with hotel rooms, a golf course, lake amenities, a restaurant and bar, and beautiful grounds. We had a wonderful experience at the Lake Blackshear Resort and Golf club and would highly recommend them as your future venue for a wedding or any other memorable event.

When we got engaged, we knew that we did not want to have long engagement. We set our date for January 10, 2015, giving us a little over four months to plan. We began to search for venues that had specific qualities. We knew that we wanted to have our ceremony and reception in the same place, but with our short time frame, we needed somewhere that had a coordinator, that had inside catering, and that could set up our ceremony and reception site to be absolutely gorgeous. We also wanted to have our rehearsal dinner and let our guests to have the option to stay on site. We found all of these qualities and more at Lake Blackshear Resort. As we began to meet with our coordinator, she gave us all of the information that we needed including buffet set-ups and prices, ceremony site options, ballroom sizes and prices, as well as little detailed information that we needed to know. To our surprise, the resort offered several things in our package that kept us from having to rent from an outside vendor, such as white wooden ceremony chairs and a dance floor. Our coordinator also provided us with a list of other vendors such as florists, DJs and bands, and wedding cake confectioners which helped us tremendously in the planning process. As our wedding day approached, our coordinator kept meetings scheduled and kept us informed on any information that we needed to know and reminded us of small details that we were missing. She kept us stress-free so that we could enjoy this special time in our lives which meant a lot to us. Before we knew it, it was time for rehearsal dinner. When we arrived at the resort, we got checked into our rooms in a timely manner. We were all able to get ready and then walk down to the ceremony site to begin rehearsal. Our coordinator was there for the entire duration of the rehearsal and dinner. She worked alongside our florist, whom she recommended, and made sure that the decorations and food were perfect. Our wedding day was nothing short of perfection. The ceremony site and chairs were absolutely gorgeous, as well as our reception set up. The food was amazing and our guests were able to dance the night away and enjoy the beauty of the dim lit ballroom. They got to enjoy our cakes that were professionally cut by their complimentary cake cutting service, as well as some cocktails that were served at the cash bar station. Our coordinator was awesome in listening to every little detail that we wanted and she and the rest of the staff at the resort made sure that it happened. They even worked with our family and friends on a little surprise that made our day so exciting; a helicopter ride into the sunset from the front lawn! There is not anything that we can complain about. Our experience at the Lake Blackshear Resort was perfect. I highly recommend this venue to all brides. They will provide everything that you want and more to make sure that your special day is everything that you dream of!
