Christmas in the Pines

Staying at Lake Blackshear Resort & Golf Club places you in the middle of the holiday fun. Georgia Veterans State Park lights up every year during Christmas in the Pines, a dazzling light display that draws visitors from all over the state. Come see more than a half-mile of holiday lights that create a wonderland of Christmas cheer. Christmas trees and Santa scenes will get you in the spirit as you meander through the pines next to Lake Blackshear. This festive display is open every weekend from 6-9 p.m. in December through Saturday, December 18^th. The last day to enjoy the display is Thursday, December 23^rd. Admission is $10. Children 3 and younger get in free.

Cordele Holiday Train

In the weeks leading up to Christmas, hop on the SAM Shortline for a train ride with Santa. The Cordele Holiday Train boards at the depot in Lake Blackshear Resort & Golf Club and is your family’s ride to Christmas cheer. Santa Claus will ride along and brings a gift for each passenger. Enjoy holiday music, hot chocolate, and cookies on each one-hour trip. Trains depart at 5 p.m., 6:30 p.m., and 8 p.m. on December 11, 17, and 18. Christmas Day Buffet

After you’ve opened all the presents you can and enjoyed the natural beauty of Lake Blackshear, join us for a decadent Christmas Day buffet at Cordelia’s. The buffet runs from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. and is $18 for children ages 3 to 12 and $36 for adults, plus tax and gratuity.

Enjoy holiday classics like turkey, glazed ham, and roasted pork loin. A full salad bar and sides including a baked-potato bar, three-cheese macaroni and cheese and other scrumptious sides round out the first courses and get you ready for seven dessert options including pecan pie, apple pie and chocolate bread pudding to name a few. Reservations are strongly recommended.

New Year’s Eve Dinner and Dance

If you think Christmas is special at Lake Blackshear Resort & Golf Club, wait until you’re here for New Year’s Eve. Dine and dance 2021 away at our annual New Year’s Eve Dinner & Dance.

The doors open at 7 p.m. Enjoy live music from The Fabulous Boomers Band starting at 8 p.m., a gourmet meal with your choice of protein, ball drop and a champagne toast at midnight. Enjoy the party alone for only $140 per couple inclusive or get the overnight stay package for only $320 per couple inclusive which includes the dinner, party overnight accommodations and breakfast for two the next morning.

First Day Hike

Start 2022 off right by taking in a walk in the pine forest of Georgia Veterans State Park. Meet our park staff at 10 a.m. at the Yucca Trace Trail Head for this nature-inspired New Year tradition.
